Apple Crumble with step-by-step pictures. Crumble is a dish of British Origin, the main ingredients used in the dish are flour, butter, and sugar. We can make both a sweet version and a savory version. The savory version calls for meat whereas the sweet version calls for fruits. However among those, the most common one is the Apple crumble.
It becomes popular during the second world war as there was a shortage of pastry crust. So Apple crumbles may be an alternate for pies.

How to prepare Apple Crumble, Pictorial:

    1. In a mixing bowl add in All-purpose flour,Baking powder and Salt then add in ice-cold butter cubes break it down with the help of your hand and mix it to the flour and the mixture will resemble the crumble.

    2. Next add in Corn flakes, mix well and then add in cinnamon powder and Sugar. I used brown sugar.

    3. Mix well and then add in the chopped nuts and give a good mix. The Crumb is now ready, till we prepare the base refrigerate the crumb mixture.

    4. Grease a baking pan with butter generously and set it aside. Chop the apples into small pieces and add it to the prepared baking pan. Now add in Cornflour and sugar.

    5. Give a quick toss such that it is coated well with the apple. Now top the apple with the prepared crumb mixture and cover it fully. Preheat the oven at 180 Deg C and then bake at 180 Deg C for about 25-30 mins or until the crust becomes golden brown.

Serve this delicious apple crumble  with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
