    Carrot Idli Recipe | Easy Kids Breakfast Recipes

     Carrot Idli Recipe with step by step photos. Idli is a healthy breakfast option for kids as it is steam cooked also helps in easy digestion. Let’s make the Idli interesting by adding some Carrot colorful and looks pleasing so that it will definitely tempt the kids.

    I prepared the Carrot Idli in mini idli pans as my kiddo like it this way and it is easy for her to pick and eat by herself.
    Other Idli Recipes which I have posted earlier are Rava Idli, vermicelli Idli, and Sago Idli. One of the perfect combination to have this Idli would be Idli Sambar and Chutney.

     Carrot Idli Recipe
         Step by step Method with pictures:     
     
    1.     Wash the carrot really well and chop into small pieces .Add the chopped carrot pieces in a blender and grind it to form course pieces. Alternatively you can also grate the carrot. Add the Carrot into the prepared Idli batter (Check notes for Idli dosa batter)

    2.     Meanwhile in a pan add in oil once it becomes hot add in Mustard Seeds ,minced Ginger and curry leaves add in the prepared tadka to the idli dosa batter .Mix well Add in the Required Salt to the dosa batter and mix well.

     3.     Prepare the Idli pan and pour in the prepared batter steam cook in a medium flame for about 12-15 mins till the idli is fully cooked. Once it is done. Serve hot with Chutney and Sambar.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup Idli Batter
    • Carrot – 1 big
    • Green Chilli – 1
    • Salt as needed
    • Oil -1 tsp
    • Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
    • Curry Leaves a spring
    • Ginger – ½ tsp minced

    For Idli Batter:

    • Idli Rice – 1 cup
    • Urad Dal – ¼ cup
    • Fenugreek Seeds – ¼ tsp

    Instructions

    Notes

    For the Idli dosa batter Soak the Idli Rice, Urad Dal, and Fenugreek seeds in water for about 5 hours and then grind everything separately to form a fine paste and finally mix everything other.
    Allow the prepared batter to ferment overnight and then use it.(I will do a separate post about preparing perfect Idli Dosa batter) ·
    Carrot Idli is a healthy after school snack or breakfast for Kids.
