    Chana Dal Chutney | Parupu chutney | Easy Breakfast Side Dish Recipe

    Chana Dal chutney is a simplest chutney that you can prepare. Just a handful of ingredients and your chutney is ready. It is healthy indeed as chana Dal is packed with full of proteins. Additional advantage is that it is a no coconut chutney so that we can have it guilt free. Chana Dal chutney also goes very well with Porridge's. Will be sharing those recipes soon!!Now let’s get started with the Chana Dal Chutney preparation.

    Chana Dal Chutney

    Recipe Cuisine: Indian |  Recipe Category : SideDish/Chutney
    Prep Time: 5 mins | Bake Time :5 mins |Serves: 2 |Author :Sharmila
    Ingredients:                                      
    Chana Dal – 1 cup
    Garlic pods – 4-5
    Green Chilli – 1
    Salt as needed
    Water as – ¼ cup
    To Temper:
    Oil – 1 tsp
    Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
    Curry Leaves a spring
    Step by step Method with pictures:
    1. In a pan dry roast the Chana Dal in a low flame until golden brown .Make sure not to burn it. It will take around 5 mins. After roasting if you bite the Dal it will be crispy, that is the correct consistency.
    2. In a blender add in the dry roasted Chana Dal, Garlic, and Green chilli and give a quick pulse, Next add in little water and grind it to a fine paste.
    3. After grinding add in the water and bring it to the chutney consistency and then add in Salt .In a pan add in oil once it becomes hot add in Mustard seeds and then Curry leaves let it splutter and then pour the tadka to the chutney. Easy Chana Dal chutney is ready in no time.
    Notes:
    • Goes well with Idli or Dosa.
    • Adjust the number of Green Chilli according to your spice levels.
