2. Add in the soaked channa dal and Salt and cook till it’s done. The dal should hold its shape, it should not become mushy. Now heat a pan add in oil once it becomes hot add in Mustard seeds and Urad Dal, let them splutter
3. Next add in the Hing, Dry Red Chilli, Green Chilli and Curry Leaves. Next add in the cooked channa Dal and salt if necessary (as we have already added salt while cooking the channa Dal.) mix well and add in the coconut cook in a low flame for 2-3 mins and switch off the flame. Tasty and Healthy Channa Dal Sundal is now ready to be served.

Channa Dal Sundal
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Channa Dal – 1 cup
- Water – 2 cups
- Salt as needed
- Freshly grated coconut – 3 tbsp
- Oil – 2 tsp
- Hing a pinch
- Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
- Urad Dal – ½ tsp
- Dry Red Chilli – 3
- Green Chilli - 1
- Curry Leaves – a spring
Instructions
- Soak the channa dal in water for two hours. Bring in lots of water to boil.
- Add in the soaked channa dal and Salt and cook till it’s done. The dal should hold its shape, it should not become mushy. Now heat a pan add in oil once it becomes hot add in Mustard seeds and Urad Dal, let them splutter

Notes
· Perfect for the Navratri fasting and evening snacks.
· If you don’t have enough time to soak the dal you can also pressure cook it for 4 whistles in a high flame.
