Dates and Dry Fruits Scones is a mild sweetened Irish breakfast bread or cookies. It goes well with Jam or cream.

Scones are mildly sweetened breakfast cakes/breads. It is usually made with eggs. However an eggless version would be loved by all and everybody can follow the recipe hence I tried an eggless version. Even since I saw the video in Gemma’s Channel I was so eager to make the Scones. So today I made use of the chance.

Scones are very mildly sweetened so I added dates, dry fruits and chocolate to make it a hit recipe. Indeed my daughter loved it J so it is a toddler approved recipe. Now let’s get started.

How to Prepare Date and Dry Fruits Scones, Pictorial

    1. In a mixing bowl take the flour, to this add in Baking powder, Cornflour, and Sugar, and then add in Butter. With the hands mix everything together it will resemble a crumble at this time.

    2. Now add in Dates, Chocolate chips and the dry fruits together mix everything once again. Now add in milk.

    3. Mix everything and bring the dough together it should be very soft, if needed add a little milk extra. Dust a surface with flour and roll the kneaded dough with ½ inch thickness.

     4. With a cutter or mold cut the scones into the desired shapes. Arrange them in a baking tray and put them in a fridge while we preheat the oven. Preheat the oven at 200 Deg C for about 10 mins and then bake at 200 Deg C for about 20 mins or till the scones turn golden brown in colour.

Serve scones for breakfast along with Milk or Tea
