    Garlic Rice Recipe | Poondu Saadham Recipe | Easy Variety Rice with step by step pictures and a video. If you have some cooked Rice and in no mood to cook an elaborate meal and this platter will help you prepare a spread in just 30 mins. All you need is some cooked rice and masala; A quick yummy meal is really. It goes well with curd ,Simple thogayal and some chips.

    Garlic Rice Recipe
    Method: 
    1.    Heat a pan with oil once its hot add in the mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Next add in the Urad Dal and Channa Dal.

     2.    Saute till it is golden. Next add in the Dry Red Chilli and roasted peanuts. Saute for few secs and then add in the Curry leaves.

     3.    Saute and then add in the chopped garlic pods. Saute til it turn slightly golden.

     4.    Next add in the thinly sliced onions. Cook till it turns glossy. Then add in the red chilli powder, Garam Masala, Turmeric powder and the required Salt.

    5.    Mix well and cook till the raw smell of the masala leaves and then add in the cooked and cooled Rice. Give a good mix and cook for 2 mins in a low flame.Finally garnish with coriander leaves and switch off.
    Yummy Garlic Rice is now ready in no time!!

    Ingredients

    • Oil -2 tsp
    • Mustard – ½ tsp
    • Urad Dal – 1 tsp
    • Channa Dal – 1 tsp
    • Dry Red Chilli – 3
    • Roasted Peanuts – 2 tbsp
    • Curry leaves a spring
    • Garlic- 12 pods chopped
    • Onion – 1 thinly sliced
    • Red Chilli powder – ¾ to 1 tsp
    • Garam Masala – ½ tsp
    • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
    • Salt as needed
    • Cooked Rice – 1 cup
    • Coriander leaves to garnish

    Notes

    • Serve with yogurt and any thogayal.
    • You can add more garlic if you like the flavour.
    • Basmati Rice can also be added.
