Kerala style tender jackfruit thoran is a yummy recipe where the jackfruit is cooked to perfection and then cooked with a coconut-based masala. It goes well with rice and any spicy gravy. How to make tender jackfruit thoran
3.Transfer the cooked jackfruit pieces in to blender and pulse it.
4.In a blender add in the coconut, curry leaves, garlic ,cumin seeds ,turmeric powder, green chilli and pulse it and set aside.
5.In a vessel add the pulsed jackfruit and coconut masala and mix well.
6.Heat a pan with coconut oil once hot add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, ,channa Dal, dry red chilli curry leaves.
7.Then add in the cooked raw jackfruit and coconut mixture and stir well. Add required salt cook in a low flame for 5 mins and switch off

Idichakka Thoran | Tender Raw Jackfruit Stir Fry
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
To pressure cook:
- 1 Tender raw jackfruit small one
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- ½ cup Water
To Grind:
- ½ cup Coconut
- 4 Garlic
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 2 Green chilli
- ½ tsp Cumin seeds
Other ingredients:
- 1 tbsp Coconut oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Channa Dal
- 3 Dry red chilli
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- Salt as needed
Instructions
- Remove the outer skin and chop the jackfruit into small piece. Transfer it to a pressure cooker add salt and turmeric powder, ½ cup water and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Wait till the pressure is released on its own and then open the cooker.
- Transfer the cooked jackfruit pieces in to blender and pulse it.
