     Mashed Spinach Recipe | Keerai Kadayal | Arai Keerai Masiyal with step by step pictures. Keerai kadayl recipe is once a quick recipe made within 15 mins and with just a few ingredients. The taste mainly comes from the onion and garlic added and they are cooked in oil. Use sesame oil for good results. Now let's see how to prepare mashed spinach recipe.

        Step by step Method with pictures:
        1.Heat a pan with oil once hot add in the garlic pods and green chilli let them fry and then add in the onions, saute till glossy. Wash the spinach well, immerse it in water for 10 mins and then clean it to remove the dust. Chop them and then add them to the pan.

     2.The spinach will wilt and reduce in volume in some time. Add in the required salt and cook at a medium flame.

     3.Once it's fully cooked. Switch off the flame. Using a blender puree the cooked spinach. Serve with rice drizzled in ghee.

    Serve with ghee, rice, and any spicy poriyal.

    Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml

    Ingredients

    • Spinach – 1 bunch
    • Oil – 2 tbsp
    • Onion – 2
    • Garlic – 5 pods
    • Green Chilli - 1
    • Salt as needed

    Instructions 

    • Heat a pan with oil once hot add in the garlic pods and green chilli let them fry and then add in the onions, saute till glossy. Wash the spinach well, immerse it in water for 10 mins and then clean it to remove the dust. Chop them and then add it into the pan.

    Notes

    • Any variety of spinach can be used.
    • Clean the spinach well to remove the dust and mud particles and then use.
    • Onions give a nice sweetness to the spinach. Shallots can also be used.
    • Can be served kids.
