I usually dislike to eat it as such and hence I prepare gooseberry lemonade often or make pachadi and hence my weekly quota of amla is done right. Now lets see how to prepare Amla Raita.

2. In a bowl beat in thick curd and add the ground gooseberry paste and mix well. To this add in the required salt and bring it a desired consistency.
3. In a pan add in oil once it heats up add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,hing,dry red chilli and curry leaves and allow them to crackle and then pour over the prepared raita. Serve with Rice.
Serve with with Rice or Dosa.

Nellikai Thayir Pachadi | Amla Raita | Gooseberry Coconut pachadi
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Amla/Gooseberry – 5
- Green Chilli – 2
- Coconut – ¼ cup
- Thick curd – ½ cup
- Salt as needed
- To Temper:
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Hing a pinch
- Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
- Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
- Dry Red Chilli – 2
- Curry leaves few
Instructions
- In a blender add in chopped gooseberry along with green chilli and coconut and grind to a coarse paste.
- In a bowl beat in thick curd and add the ground gooseberry paste and mix well. To this add in the required salt and bring it a desired consistency.
- In a pan add in oil once it heats up add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,hing,dry red chilli and curry leaves and allow them to crackle and then pour over the prepared raita. Serve with Rice.
