    Pot Pie

    Pot pie is a dish which is originally from Greece initially they made it only with Meat .later the dish was modified and many versions of it are made. I prepared this during my Lent season so I went with a vegetable Pot pie loaded with tonnes of vegetables and now let’s get started.
    Pot Pie

    Ingredients                                  

    All-purpose flour – ½ cup
    Cold Butter -  ¼ cup
    Carrot – 2 tbsp
    Beans – 2 tbsp
    Cabbage – 2 tbsp
    Capsicum – 1 tbsp
    Tomato – 2 tbsp
    Onion – 2 tbsp
    For White Sauce:
    Butter – 1 tsp
    Grated Garlic – 1-2 tsp
    All-purpose flour – 2 tbsp
    Milk – 1 ½ cup
    Pepper – 1 tsp
    Salt as needed
    Method :
    1. In a Sauce pan add in butter let it melt, to this add in grated garlic and stir well, next add in all-purpose flour and mix well.
    2. Next add in the milk slowly without forming any lumps. Keep mixing and allow it to come to a thick consistency. Finally add in salt and pepper.
    3. The Sauce will thicken, switch off the flame.
    4. In a Kadai/Wok add in butter first add in beans and cabbage sauté for 2 mins.
    5. Next add in all the chopped veggies and sauté for 5 mins in a low flame. Now add in the prepared white sauce mix well and switch off the flame.
    6. In a mixing bowl add in All-purpose flour and cold cubes butter, with the help of hands crumble both together.
    7. And then add cold water if required or don’t add any and mix everything together to form a soft dough. Using a rolling pin roll it flat such that it has enough space to cover the dish. Cut it to for the shape of the vessel and using the remaining dough cover the rim of the dish
    8. Now pour the prepared white sauce and cover the vessel with the dough Prick with fork around the dish giving some space for the air to circulate. Preheat the oven at 180 Deg C for about 10 mins and then bake at 180 Deg C for about 40-45 mins or till the crust becomes golden brown.
    Notes:
    • The baking time may vary from oven to oven.
    • Add in any vegetables or meat of your choice in preparing the white sauce.
    Step by step Method with pictures:
