    South Indian Lunch Thali | Lunch Series | Lunch Menu 1

    Finally after a long push I am starting my Lunch Menu Series. Even since I started blogging I had this idea of starting Lunch Menu series in mind but somehow it was getting delayed for no reason. So this BM when I saw the themes I picked Thali varieties. Thanks to Valli J
    The very First Lunch Menu I wanted it to be a grand Vegetarian Lunch .I prepared this for a weekend .So that I could cook and click without any rush and still enjoy my Meal. Now let's get started with the Lunch Menu.
    • Cauliflower|Gobi stir Fry
    • Aubergine | Egg Plant Roast
    • Tomato Rasam
    • Parupu Curry | Kerala style DalyCurry
    • Thalicha Mor | Spiced Butter Milk|Neer Moru
    • Steamed Rice
    • Thakkali Tokku
    • Banana Chips
    • Cookies

    Prep Time: 30 mins | Cook Time : 90 mins |Serves: 2 |Author :Sharmila
    1. Soak the rice and keep aside. Soak the Tamarind for Rasam and Dal Curry.
    2. Chop Onions and tomatoes.
    3. Start by boiling the Tomatoes for Rasam in one stove and pressure cook the Dal along with onion and Tomatoes for Parupu Curry in another stove.
    4. Meanwhile chop the brinjal and Gobi . Grate the Coconut needed for the stir fry and Dal Curry.
    5. By this time tomatoes would have been cooked. So now in another pan bring the water to boil and add in the chopped Gobi .Set them also aside for 5 mins.
    6. In the same stove start preparing the Aubergine  Fry. Meanwhile the Dal would have been cooked .So in that stove start preparing the Gobi Stir Fry.
    7. For the Gobi Stir Fry .Start with tempering and then saute onion and then add in the gobi along with turmeric powder and salt cook till the gobi is fully cooked finally garnish with coconut and switch off the flame(Will be sharing the recipe with step by step pics soon).
    8. While the gobi is getting cooked prepare for the Parupu curry. Once the gobi is done parupu curry can be cooked in the same stove.
    9. Aubergine would also have been cooked now. So in that stove start preparing the Rice in a pressure cooker.
    10. Now start beating the curd and prepare for the Thalicha Mor. Once the Parupu curry is done Thalich Mor can be prepared easily.
    Notes:
    • I have used Store bought Banana Chips and Cookies for this Lunch.
    • The Tomato thokku I have prepared the previous day.
    • It totally took me 2 hours form the start till the end for preparing the food including preparation and cooking.
