White Sauce or Béchamel sauce is usually made from Butter, Flour and Milk .It is considered to be base in Italian and French Cooking. Many Variations can be made to this basic sauce by adding Cheese, herbs, flakes and any more. It is used many dishes I have used this White Sauce in my Vegetable Gratin Recipe and White Sauce Penne Pasta Recipe, so if you have White sauce handy you can whip up the dishes in just minutes. Now let’s see how to prepare White Sauce.

Prep Time: 10 mins | Cook time : 10 mins | Serves 2 |Author :Sharmila Ingredients
Butter – 1 tsp Grated Garlic – 1-2 tsp
All-purpose flour – 2 tbsp
Milk – 1 ½ cup
Pepper – 1 tsp
Salt as needed
Step by step Method with pictures:
1. In a Sauce pan add in butter let it melt, to this add in grated garlic and stir well, next add in all-purpose flour and mix well.
2. Next add in the milk slowly without forming any lumps. Keep mixing and allow it to come to a thick consistency. Finally add in salt and pepper.
3. The Sauce will thicken, switch off the flame.
Notes:
· White Sauce tends to thicken quickly.
· If it thickens add ½ cup milk and then cook for 2 mins.
· Add more Pepper and Salt if required.
