Rajma Sundal

Rajma Sundal is so easy to prepare and can be had as an evening snack. It very healthy and rich in protein.

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml

Ingredients

  • Rajma – 1 cup
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp
  • Salt as needed
  • To Temper:
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
  • Urad Dal – 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chilli – 3
  • Curry Leaves a spring

Instructions 

  • Soak the Rajma overnight and then pressure cook it by adding little Salt for 4 whistles. Wait till the pressure gets released by itself and then drain the excess water and set the rajma aside. Heat a pan with oil once its hot add in the Mustard, Cumin Seeds and Urad Dal let it splutter.
  • Then add in the hing, Curry leaves and dry red chilli saute for few secs and then add in the Cooked Rajma, Sauté and cook for a min and then add little Salt as needed. Mix well.
  • Next add in the grated coconut and mix well. Cook for a min and then switch off the flame.

Notes

Check and add Salt as we have already added salt while cooking the Rajma.
If you prefer a spicy Sundal ,add in 1 tbsp of Sundal spice mix and mix well before adding the grated coconut.
Serve as an evening snack.
