In a mortar and pestle add in the Fennel seeds, cloves,Cardamom pods,Cinnamon Stick,Whole pepper and Star Anise. Crush them coarsely.
Heat a sauce pan with ½ cup of water , bring it to a boil. Once it comes to a boil add in the crushed spices
Then add in the 1 tsp of crushed ginger and ½ tsp of tea powder. In a low flame let it boil for 2 mins. So that the spices would have infused well with the tea powder.
To this add in 1 cup of Milk. Mix well and then add in 1 tbsp of Jaggery powder.
Let the milk come to a boil. And then put in a low flame and cook for another 3 mins. Switch off and then strain the tea.
Serve hot. Yummy Masala Chai is now ready

You can very well use Sugar in the tea , But this is my way of preparing the tea.
Increase of decrease the quantity of tea powder based on your liking.
