Apple Crumble

Apple Crumble is a dish form the British Origin, the main ingredients used in the dish is flour, butter and sugar along with apples.

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml

Ingredients

  • Apple – 2
  • All-purpose flour – ⅓ cup
  • Butter – ¼ cup
  • Baking powder – ½ tsp
  • Sugar – ¼ cup
  • Corn flakes – ⅓ cup
  • Nuts – ¼ cup
  • Corn flour – 2 tbsp
  • Salt a pinch

Instructions 

  • In a mixing bowl add in All-purpose flour ,Baking powder and Salt then add in ice cold butter cubes break it down with the help of your hand and mix it to the flour and the mixture will resemble the crumble.
  • Next add in Corn flakes, mix well and then add in cinnamon powder and Sugar. I used brown sugar.
  • Mix well and then add in the chopped nuts and give a good mix. The Crumb is now ready, till we prepare the base refrigerate the crumb mixture.
  • Grease a baking pan with butter generously and set it aside. Chop the apples in to small pieces and add it to the prepared baking pan. Now add in Corn flour and sugar.
  • Give a quick toss such that it is coated well with the apple. Now top the apple with the prepared crumb mixture and cover fully. Preheat the oven at 180 Deg C and then bake at 180 Deg C for about 25-30 mins or until the crust becomes golden brown.

Notes

  • Allow it to cool completely and the serve.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  • I dint app much sugar and my apples were juicy, So adjust the sugar level according to the sweetness of you apples.
  • I added organic brown sugar, white sugar can also be used.
  • I used ¼ cup of sugar to the crumb mixture and the reaming ¼ with the apple for topping.
