Chicken Poppers

Chicken Poppers are a yummy bite sized snack it is easy to prepare and makes a star recipe for an evening snack or for a party

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml

Ingredients

  • Chicken – 250 gms
  • Potato – 2
  • Onion – 1
  • Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
  • Curry Leaves 1 spring
  • Green Chilli – 1
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Salt as needed
  • Egg – 1
  • Pankco Breadcrumbs – ½ cup
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions 

  • Heat a pan with water once it starts boiling add in the chicken along with turmeric powder and little salt. Cook till the chicken is completely done. Allow it to cool down. Shred the chicken pieces and then run it through a blender and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl add in the blended chicken along with cooked and mashed potato and the chopped onions, ginger garlic paste, finely chopped green chilli, coriander leaves and curry leaves. Also add in the garam Masala and the required Salt.
  • Mix everything together such that it comes together similar to a dough. Pinch it into small sized balls and put it in the fridge for 30 mins.
  • Beat an egg and then take the breadcrumbs and set it ready. Dip the Chicken balls in egg.
  • And then roll the balls in the bread crumbs. Heat a pan with oil for deep frying.
  • Add in the balls and deep fry the balls in a medium flame until its crisp and golden brown. Serve hot

Notes

  • Makes a yummy snack or a great appetizer.
  • I used Panko bread crumbs for the crispy texture, however ordinary breadcrumbs can also be used.
  • You can freeze the balls and deep fry whenever needed.
  • Serve hot with some tomato ketchup
