Whole Wheat Jaggery Chocolate Cookies

Whole Wheat Jaggery Chocolate Cookies is a healthy bake with whole wheat, Jaggery, Chocolate and Nuts

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml

Ingredients

  • Whole Wheat Flour – 1 cup
  • Soft butter – ½ cup
  • Jaggery powder – ½ cup
  • Baking powder a pinch
  • Cocoa powder – 3 tbsp
  • Water – if needed
  • Chocolate chips – ¼ cup
  • Any nuts – ¼ cup

Instructions 

  • In a mixing bowl add in the soft butter and Jaggery powder.
  • Cream them together until the butter and Jaggery are well combined.
  • Next add in the Cocoa powder, Baking powder. Combine it once again with the butter and Jaggery powder.
  • Next add in the Wheat flour in small batches and knead everything to a soft dough. If the mixture is very dry sprinkle in Water and Knead.
  • Pinch a small portion of the dough and flatten it with a rolling pin.
  • Sprinkle in some Chocolate Chips and nuts if using and run the rolling pin above the same once again.
  • Using a cookies cutter cut the cookies. Let the cookies be of 1 to ½ inch thickness. Put it in the fridge for 30 mins.
  • Preheat a oven at 180 Deg C for 10 mins and then bake the cookies at 180 Deg for 10 mins.
  • Allow it to cool down complete and then store in airtight container.

Notes

  • Keeps good for 2 weeks.
  • If you don’t have a cookie cutter, you can roll it in between your palms and form any shapes.
  • Place a parchment paper and keep the cookies above that in the baking tray while baking.
  • Use any nuts of your choice. I used Sunflower seeds.
