Wheat Uthaappam | Instant Godhumai Uthappam | Atta Pancakes

Wheat flour uthappam can be prepared instantly when you run out of dosa batter, it is so simple and easy. It goes well with coconut chutney and sambar.

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml


  • Whole Wheat flour / Atta – 1 cup
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Water as needed
  • Ghee as needed


  • In a mixing bowl add in the wheat flour along with salt mix well. Next add in water little by little and make a batter similar to dosa consistency. Let it be no too thick.
  • Heat a dosa tawa. Once it is take a ladle full of batter and pour an uthappam on the pan and then sprinkle it with finely chopped onions. Drizzle with ghee over the sides
  • Cover the uthappam and let it cook. Next flip and cook the other side. Remove from the dosa tawa and serve hot.


· Don’t spread the uthappam.It should be thick.
· Use can also use oil for drizzling over the sides of uthappam but ghee gives a nice flavour.
· Serve hot with sambar and coconut chutney.
