Date Balls

Date Balls with chocolate is a yummy date energy ball. It is a no-sugar snack and has walnuts, Almond butter, making it a healthy snack.

Equipment

  • Food Processor

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups Medjool Dates
  • 1 tbsp Almond Butter
  • 1.5 tbsp Cocoa Powder
  • cups Walnut
  • Salt a pinch
  • Pistachios to garnish

Instructions 

  • Pit and remove the seeds from the dates. Add them to a blender. If using a high speed blender you can use them as a whole. Else chop them into small pieces and add to blender.
  • Next add Walnuts, Cocoa powder, and salt.
  • Next, add the Almond butter.
  • Blend well to a coarse or fine paste as you prefer.
  • Transfer to a mixing bowl and scoop in equal portions and shape them as balls.
  • Healthy Chocolate date balls are now ready.

Notes

  • You can also chop the dates and then add them to the blender. If you have a powerful blender you can add them directly.
  • Instead of almond butter, you can add any nut butter. Peanut butter or even cashew butter works well.
  • If you prefer a nut free butter sunflower seeds butter too works well.
  • Adding a pinch of salt is optional but it elevates the taste so highly recommend adding it.
  • Feel free to decorate the date balls as you prefer.
