Dates and Dry Fruits Scones

Dates and Dry Fruits Sconesis a mild sweetened Irish breakfast bread or cookies. It goes well with Jam or cream.

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml

Ingredients

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 tbsp Corn Flour
  • cup Milk
  • ¾ tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • ¼ cup Chocolate Chips
  • ¼ cup Dates
  • ¼ cup Dry Fruits

Instructions 

  • In a mixing bowl take the flour, to this add in Baking powder, Corn flour and Sugar and then add in Butter. With the hands mix everything together it will resemble a crumble at this time.
  • Now add in Dates, Chocolate chips, and the dry fruits together mix everything once again. Now add in milk.
  • Mix everything and bring the dough together it should be very soft, if needed add a little milk extra. Dust a surface with flour and roll the kneaded dough with ½ inch thickness.
  • With a cutter cut the scones into the desired shapes. Arrange them in a baking tray and put them in a fridge while we preheat the oven. Preheat the oven at 200 Deg C for about 10 mins and then bake at 200 Deg C for about 20 mins or till the scones turn golden brown in color.

Notes

Allow the scones to cool down completely and then store in an airtight container.
Serve the scones with either jam or Cream.
Makes a whole some breakfast along with Milk or Tea
