Almond Chicken Curry | Badam Chicken | Keto Chicken Curry

Almond Chicken Curry is a creamy chicken gravy made with Almonds or Badam along with other spices .It is mild and perfect with Tandoori Roti or spicy Pulao and Biryani.

Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml


  • ½ kg Chicken
  • ½ cup Shallots or Small Onion
  • ¼ cup Onion
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ tsp Pepper Powder
  • ½ tsp Fennel Seeds powder or Garam Masala Powder
  • 2 tbsp Coriander Leaves Finely chopped

To Grind

  • ½ cup Almonds or Badam
  • 3 Green Chilli
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli poweder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 2 tbsp Water

To Temper

  • 1 tbsp Coconut Oil
  • 3 Cardamom crushed
  • 2 inch piece Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Bay Leaf


  • In a blender add in the Almond ,Green Chilli,Red Chili powder and Coriander powder.
  • Along with this add 2 tbsp of water and blend everything to a fine paste and set aside. Heat a kadai with oil.
  • Once its hot add in crushed cardamom, Cinnamon sticks,Bay leaf. Saute fro few secs.
  • Next add ½ cup shallots and ¼ cup of sliced regular onions.Add in ½ tsp of salt.
  • Saute everything together untill the onions are cooked glossy.
  • Now add in the ginger garlic paste and cook in a low flame untill the raw smell leaves.Next add in the cleaned chicken pieces .
  • Combine everything and saute in a low flame for 2 mins. Next add in the ground Almond paste.Mix everything.
  • Add in 1 cup of water. I washed the blender after grinding the almonds and used that water.Cook for a minute and then add ½ tsp of pepper powder and the required salt.
  • Mix well and then add in the Fennel seeds powder or Garam Masala .Combine everything and then close and cook till the chicken is cooked completely.
  • Once the chicken is cooked. Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the flame.



I used my claypot kadai for cooking ,It gives a nice flavour and taste to the chicken.
I used coconut oil for cooking, use any oil as per your preference.
Fennel seeds powder can be replaced with Garam Masala.
