Mawa Kheer Recipe | Khoya Kheer | How to make Mawa Kheer with step by step pictures. Diwali is just a few days ahead and I had a really long to do list to try and post for Diwali. But then I had guests over the weekend and work in office kept me really busy that I barely could spent some time for the blog. Even the next weekend I have guests and hence I doubt if I can post more recipes. Without further delay I am posting a simple and rich kheer to try this Diwali.
Mawa kheer is made with some really simple ingredients. This kheer can be improvised by adding either rice or vermicelli .Now let see how to prepare Mawa Kheer.

Mawa kheer | Khoya Kheer
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- ½ cup Khoya
- 3 cup Milk
- 3 tbsp Condensed Milk
- ¼ cup Sugar
- Kesar / Saffron a generous pinch
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 10 Cashew nuts
- ¼ tsp Cardamom powder
Instructions
- Soak saffron in 1 tbsp of milk and set aside. Get ready with the mawa/Khoya. Heat a pan with ghee.
- Once it melts add in the cashew nuts and fry till golden brown and set aside. In the remining ghee add in the khoya and stir quickly such that it roasts a little in ghee and then add in the milk.

Notes
- Adjust the sweetness as per your taste. But adding both sugar and condensed milk makes the kheer rich.
