Chicken Lollipop is a popular Indo-Chinese appetizer. It is a frenched chicken winglet where the meat portion in the legs is cut loosely from the bones and then pushed towards the end where it resembles a lollipop and hence the name.

    chicken lollipop

Juicy Chicken Lollipops are a very popular Indo-Chinese delicacy. It is a common and most ordered food from restaurants. Juicy chicken is coated with sauces and cooked to perfection.

Usually, lollipops are deep-fried in oil in restaurants. I tried a perfectly guilt-free version, the air fryer version.

    Ingredients

Chicken Lollipops - This is usually the leg piece of the chicken. The chicken is loosened and pulled towards one end and it resembles the shape of the lollipop. Hence the name. I bought ready chicken lollipop pieces. You can use readymade ones or make them at home itself.

Spice Powders - I am using Kashmiri red chili powder, for the bright red color and then black pepper powder.

Ginger garlic paste - gives a yummy flavor to the chicken.

Sauce - We use Soy sauce, sriracha sauce, and tomato sauce.

All-purpose flour, cornflour - This helps the sauces to coat the chicken. We add them only in a small quantity for binding.

How to make Chicken Lollipop in air fryer

In a mixing bowl add chili powder, ginger garlic paste, black pepper powder, and the required Salt. I am using Kashmiri red chili powder for a deep color.

Next add tomato sauce, Soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, and white vinegar.

    Now combine everything togther.

Add in the cleaned chicken lollipops.

Mix well so that the chicken is coated with the marinade. Now put in the fridge for 30 mins. After 30 mins add in cornflour and all-purpose flour.

Combine the chicken well. Now the chicken is ready. Preheat the air fryer for 5 mins.

Spray or brush in little oil in the air fryer baskets. Arrange the chicken lollipops and brush in little oil.

Air fryer the chicken at 180 Deg C for 12 mins. Flip the chicken halfway and brush with oil and then continue cooking.
