    Vegan Banana Bread

Everyone has a favorite bake. Somehow we all in-home like the banana cake in the bakery back in those days. Ever since I started baking banana cake and banana bread are regular.

We love the texture and the best thing is the simplicity. It is like mix and then bakes. So simple as that. Anyone can bake by following the recipe. It is very straightforward.

I already have another banana bread recipe in blog. This is a Vegan version of banana bread.

    Vegan Banana Bread

Vegan banana bread is a perfect snack. We prepare it only from plant-based products. It has no eggs, no butter, and fewer sweeteners.

Why is banana bread so popular

The popularity of banana bread is mainly for the texture and taste. Also banana is a very common and staple grocery, the ingredients are easy to source and the bread is easy to bake.

It also has a very good amount of protein and it satisfies the appetite. Due to the addition of bananas, we may only add very few other sweeteners which is a major reason for its guilt-free indulge.

Difference Between Banana Bread and Banana cake

Little is the difference between banana bread and banana cake. Banana cake is a traditional butter cake in addition to the mashed banana , It also has a light and soft texture. However banana bread is more like a bread , it has a firmer and denser texture. Banana bread is comparatively less sweeter than the banana cake.

    FAQ, Banana Bread

Does banana bread need to be refrigerated

Banana bread stays good at room temperature for 3 days. Beyond that, we have to refrigerate. However I recommend finishing banana bread within 3 days as it tends to catch fungus easily.

    what makes banana bread moist

For moist banana bread use overripe banana. Make sure you do not over-mix the batter. Fold gently.

    Ingredients for Vegan Banana Bread:

    Ingredients for Vegan Banana Bread

Banana - Always use overripe bananas for the banana bread. Banana not only helps in the sweetness but also in the texture of the bread.

Flour - We may use half and half wheat and maida or fully maida as you prefer.

Almond Milk - Use any nut milk for the bread. But using milk is totally optional. Use only if the batter is dry. Else you may skip it.

Baking powder , Baking soda - Both the baking powder and the soda helps in the texture of the bread. And hence don't skip both.

Oil - Oil is the main wet ingredient and hence we can use any flavorless oil. I am using coconut oil for the bread.

    Banana Bread without baking Soda

Usually, if eggs are added to the batter we may skip the baking soda. Only baking powder does the job and helps in the texture and raise of the cake. But in Vegan banana cake do not substitute it. Use baking powder and baing soda.

    Glaze for Banana Bread

Few possibilities for banana bread glaze are Chocolate sauce, Orange sauce or it goes well with a simple sugar glaze.
