    Paan Shot is a refreshing chilled drink you can try for this holi. It is made quickly with just a few ingredients. You can show many variations or flavors of this drink too.

    What is Paan

    aan is an Indian version of mouth freshener. It prepared with a sweet filling stuffed in betel leaves. It is also good for digestion. Ususally had after a heavy meal for better digestion and mouth fresher. Having a meeta pan after a heavy meal is an age old Indian tradition.

    The stuffings of paan usually has gulkand ( Rose Petals Jam) , Fennel seeds , candied fennel,cherry, tuttifrutti or mini tit bits.

    Health benefits of betel leaves

    Betel leaf is an age-old traditional herb. It has various medicinal properties. It is native to Southeast Asia.

    • It improves digestion.
    • We can also use them as a mouth freshener.
    • It also has fantastic antiseptic properties.
    • They are used as a medicine for colds and cough

    Ingredients

    Betel Leaves - It is a healthy mini herbal leaf that I very common in India. It is easily available in all Indian stores.

    Gulkand - It is rose Petals Jam, you can use store-bought ones or make them at home as well.

    Fennel seeds - Enhances the paan flavor of the drink.

    Milk Powder - As a yummy flavor to the shots.

    Milk - Use any milk you prefer. Vegan milk also works well

    Can I double the recipe?

    You can easily double or triple the recipe. It suits very well. You can also adjust the ingredients as per your taste preference.

    Can I include the recipe for meal prep?

    You can add all the dry ingredients and grind them to a fine paste. Freeze if you want to store them for more than a week else keep them in a freezer box. You can grind the paste along with milk and serve it as and when needed.

    How to make Paan Shots

    In a blender roughly tear and add the betel leaves.

    Also add Milk powder, Gulkand, and Fennel Leaves

    Next, add rose petals.

    Finally, add milk. You can add any milk you prefer.

    Blend everything well. Strain if you prefer.

    Pour in shot glasses Chill and serve. Garnish with candied fennel or rose petals as you prefer.

    Tips & Suggestions

    • Paan Shots taste best when served chill.
    • You can also add a tbsp of sugar for more sweetness.
    • You can also add some chia or sabja seeds to the drink.
    • Add few drops of green food color if you prefer.

    Serving Options


    Perfect for holi parties or potlucks. You can also serve than as a welcome drink

    Storing Suggestions

    Tastes best when served chill. You can store them in the fridge for up to 3 days. If yo want to store them for more days. You can skip the milk and grind the other ingredients together and freeze. While serving you can add the frozen ingredients along with milk and serve.

    Ingredients

    • 4 Betal Leaves
    • 1 tbsp Milk Powder
    • 1 tsp Gulkand
    • 1 tsp Fennel Leaves
    • ½ tsp Rose Petals
    • 1 cup Milk

    Instructions
