Spring Rolls
spring roll is a rolled appetizer that is very popular in Chinese or Asian cuisine. It has a thin sheet that is stuffed with a filling. Traditionally the filling has seasonal spring vegetables.
The stuffings may also vary from region to region. The stuffed and rolled rolls are deep fried in hot oil until golden. Fried Spring rolls are served with a variety of sauces or dips.
They are usually a spring appetizer. They even have meat or even pork in the filling. Springs rolls are usually small rolls. Sharing a guilt-free version of spring rolls today in the air fryer.
Ingredients
Spring Roll Sheets - These are thin pasty sheets usually square in shape. You can buy them online or find them in the freezer section of most stores.
Sesame oil - It gives the traditional Chinese flavor to the dish.
Garlic - Chop the garlic finely and saute them in oil.
Spring onion - We use both the white and green parts of the onion. These are very common in Chinese cuisine.
Vegetables - I am using a mix of cabbage, carrots, beans, and bell pepper. You may also add green peas or even purple cabbage for a colorful filling.
Sauce - We are using Soy sauce, Sriracha Sauce along with White Vinegar. You can also add some red chili paste if you like a firey hot filling.
Salt and pepper - They perfectly balance the taste. The sauces have salt added and hence check and add as needed.
Corn flour - We make a slurry with cornflour and water for sealing the rolls.
Frozen Spring Rolls
If you have no time or if you are looking for quick snacks frozen spring rolls come in handy. The best part is you don't have to thaw them you can cook them in the air fryer immediately once they are out of the air fryer.
- Preheat the air fryer to 390 F (200 Deg C) for 5 min.
- Arrange the frozen spring rolls in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry them at 356 F (180 deg C) for 14 mins.
- After 7 mins flip the rolls and brush with little oil and then air fry for another 7 mins.

Tips & Variations
- Never overcrowd the air fryer. Always arrange the spring rolls one by one on the sides for crispy spring rolls.

How to store
You can prepare the filling store them in the fridge for 5 days and then wrap them in the sheets as needed.
I do not recommend rolling the spring rolls and then putting them to use later. Even a small amount of moisture makes the spring roll sheets soggy and makes them unsuitable for cooking.
Instead, you can roll the cooked spring rolls in individual paper towels and store them in zip locks. You can reheat them in an air fryer or microwave and serve them fresh as you like.
