    Drumstick Leaves Stir Fry | Murungai Keerai Poriyal
    Drumstick Leaves Stir Fry | Murungai Keerai Poriyal with step by step pictures. Drumstick leaves are loaded with iron and many other nutrients and hence it's very important to add this to our food at least once a week. Adding egg or peanuts and cooking the drumstick leaves will enhance taste .so give a try.

    Drumstick Leaves Stir Fry | Murungai Keerai Poriyal
       Step by step Method with pictures: 
        1.    Remove the drumstick leaves from its stalk, wash well, and keep it ready. Heat a pan with oil once its hot add in the mustard seeds and cumin seeds let them splutter and then add in the crushed garlic pods.

     2.    Next add in the onion and saute till glossy and then add in the Turmeric powder and Salt. Sauté for a min and then add in the drumstick leaves.

    3.    Mix well and keep cooking at a medium flame. Meanwhile, grind the coconut and dry red chili together to a coarse paste and keep it ready.

    4.    Once the leaves are cooked add in the ground coconut paste and mix well. Cook for another 1 min and then switch off the flame.

    Serve hot with Rice.

    Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml

    Ingredients

    • Drumstick Leaves – 1 big bunch
    • Oil – 1 tbsp
    • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
    • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
    • Garlic pods – 4
    • Onion – 1
    • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
    • Salt as needed

    To Grind:

    • Coconut – ¼ cup
    • Dry Red Chilli - 3

    Instructions

    • Next, add in the onion and saute till glossy and then add in the Turmeric powder and Salt. Sauté for a min and then add in the drumstick leaves.
    • Mix well and keep cooking at a medium flame. Meanwhile grind the coconut and dry red chili together to a coarse paste and keep it ready.
    • Once the leaves are cooked add in the ground coconut paste and mix well. Cook for another 1 min and then switch off the flame.

    Notes

    • Serve hot with Rice.
    • Can add egg or peanuts in the end to enhance the taste.
    • Never add water to cook the drumstick leaves also don’t close the pan while cooking.
