4.Next add in the Turmeric powder, Salt. Mix well. And then add in the measured water. Mix well
5.Once it starts boiling close the pressure cooker. Cook for 4 whistles in a high flame and one more whistle in a medium flame and switch off wait till the pressure subsides on its own and then open the cooker. Garnish with coriander leaves and a tsp of ghee and serve hot

Green Peas Khichdi Recipe | Patani Khichdi | Matar Khichdi
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Oil / Ghee
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 tsp Fennel seeds
- 2 Green Chilli
- 1 tsp Crushed ginger
- 5 clove Garlic pods
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 Onion
- 1 Tomato
- ½ cup Rice
- 2 tbsp Moong Dal
- ¼ cup Green Peas
- 3 cups Water
- ¼ tsp Turmeric power
- Salt as needed
- Coriander leaves to garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl add in the Rice and moong dal, wash well, and soak in water till you use. Heat a pressure cooker with ghee once its hot add in the mustard seeds and cumin seeds let it splutter and then Green Chilli and Bay leaf, Saute for few secs.

Notes
· Makes a wholemeal.
· I used fresh green peas. If using dried peas, soak it overnight and then use it directly while cooking.
