Green Peas Gravy | Pachai Patani Curry
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
To Pressure Cook:
- Green Peas – 1 cup
- Onion – 1
- Tomato -1
- Garlic pods - 4
To Grind:
- Coconut – ¼ cup
- Cardamom – 2
- Cinnamon Sticks – 1 inch piece
- Fennel Seeds – ½ tsp
Other Ingredients:
- Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Garam Masala – ½ tsp
- Salt as needed
- Coriander Leaves to garnish
To Temper:
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – ½ tsp
- Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
- Curry Leaves – a spring
- Dry Red Chilli – 3
Instructions
- Soak the green peas in water overnight. In a cooker add in the soaked green peas chopped onion, tomato and garlic pods along with the required Water and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Allow the pressure to release naturally. In a blender add in the Coconut, Cardamom, Cinnamon stick and Fennel seeds and blender well to a fine puree by adding little water.
