Air fryer chicken meatballs are juicy , tender and makes a great appetizer. It is an easy one bowl recipe with minimal ingredients.

Traditionally meatballs are prepared with ground beef. These juicy chicken balls are an lighter alternative but with same flavor and taste. They are tender , juicy and makes a great appetizer or you can serve them with spaghetti or pasta too.

Ingredients
Minced Chicken - use ground chicken for this recipe. Else if you have boneless chicken pieces chop them into small pieces and add to a food processor. Grind it in pulse mode to get the minced chicken.
Spice Powders - I am using Indian style spice powders but you can add as per your preference. I am using red chili powder, Cumin powder , garam masala and turmeric powder along with salt to taste.
Corn Flour - This helps in binding and helps the meatballs hold its shape.
Ginger garlic paste - Adds a lovely flavor.
Oil - As needed for brushing or spraying. I am using ground nut oil. We can use olive oil , avocado oil or any of your favorite oil.
How to make Chicken Meatballs
In a mixing bowl add minced chicken. Clean well and add.
To this add ginger garlic paste, Red Chili powder, Garam Masala, Cumin powder, Turmeric powder and required Salt.
Next add corn flour.
Also add finely chopped Cilantro and Onion.
Combine everything until mixed. Shape them into equal sized balls. You can use 1 tbsp or 1.5tbsp to of meatball base to shape. Making big meatballs will make them undercooked in the middle portion. Hence I prefer small sized balls.
Air Fryer Method
Preheat the air fryer to 200 C / 400 F for 5 mins. Spray in some oil and arrange the meatballs.
Air fry at 180 C / 356 F for 16 mins. Flip once halfway and brush with oil as needed.
Stove Top Method
If cooking in stove top you add oil to a frying pan. Once its hot add the meatballs and deep fry until its crisp and cooked.
Oven Method.
Preheat the oven at 180 C / 356 F for 10 mins. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Arrange the meatballs in baking tray and spray or brush oil. Bake at 180 C / 356 F for 30-40 mins .
Delicious Chicken Meatballs are ready in no time.
Tips & Variations
- Instead of chicken you can also use ground lamb or ground turkey in the same recipe. However the cooking time may vary slightly.
- I have not followed the traditional method, I altered the recipe a bit to suit to my Indian tastebuds.
- Usually meatballs recipe has eggs, Breadcrumbs, Parsley, Parmesan and few more dried spices.
- While rolling the meatballs you can apply little oil in your hands , this helps in rolling easily. Also the meatballs will not stick to hands while rolling.
