Lady's Finger Roast | Vendakkai Vathakal Recipe with step by step photo. Lady’s finger is an awesome vegetable to cook with, they only problem which beginners face in cooking with lady’s finger is it sliminess but when followed some tricks and trips you can nail it perfectly every time. Lady’s finger is my husband’s favourite vegetable so every week without fail I cook it. Some of the recipes which I make quite often with lady’s finger are:

Step by step Method with pictures:
1. In a pan add in oil once it heats up add in the Mustard seeds let it splutter next add Urad Dal and Chopped Green Chilli then add in finely chopped onions
2. Sauté till the onions are cooked and then add in finely chopped ginger ,Salt,Garam Masala, Turmeric Powder mix well and cook till the raw smell leaves.
3. Clean the lady’s finger with water and allow it to dry using a paper towel make sure there is no moisture in the lady’s finger and chop it .Allow it to rest for an hour and then use in the cooking. This will help reducing the sliminess of bhindi. Stir well and cook till the bhindi is completely done. Tasty lady’s finger roast is now ready to be served.
Tastes good with Steamed Rice and Sambar.

Lady's Finger Roast is an awesome vegetable that goes well with any south Indian Kuzhambu . It can be easily prepared with minimal ingredients.

Calories:
Standard 1 cup measures 240 ml
Ingredients
- Lady’s finger Bhindi – ¼ kg
- Onion – 1
- Garam Masala powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
- Salt as needed
- Green Chilli – 3
- Ginger – 1 tsp finely chopped
To Temper:
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
- Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Instructions

Notes
· You can also use a tbsp. of curd if the bhindi is slimier.
